Indonesian Vice President, Maruf Amin, said the ASEAN-China partnership continues to grow positively amid global uncertainty. It marked a record trade of 702 billion US dollars last year.
“I am optimistic that this can continue if our region remains stable and peaceful,” the Vice President said at the 27th ASEAN-China Summit held at the National Convention Centre (NCC) in Vientiane, Laos, on Thursday (10/10/2024).
The Vice President also delivered some strategic messages. One of them related to the importance of maintaining stability and peace in the region.
“The Indo-Pacific region is of strategic value. ASEAN is firmly committed to maintaining stability and conducive to the region for our mutual benefit, ” the Vice President said.
For this reason, the Vice President said Indonesia welcomed the Trilateral Meeting between China, Japan and South Korea last May, which supports peace and prosperity in the region, as well as the centrality of ASEAN.
The 27th ASEAN-China Summit was held at the National Convention Centre (NCC), Vientiane, Laos, on Thursday (10/10/2024). The meeting was attended by Chinese PM Li Qiang and the leaders of ASEAN countries.
