REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LABUAN BAJO--Chairman of Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto said Indonesia was actively engaged in diplomacy.

“We are actively leading diplomacy, as in the G20 (summit), the G20 Indonesia was the one that successfully hosted the G20 and was attended by world leaders and acknowledged issuing a declaration that all parties accepted, it is none other and not because of diplomacy than Indonesia,” said Airlangga Hartarto in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT), Sunday (14/1/2024).

Airlangga Hartarto, who is also the Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, said this during the celebration of the National Christmas of the Golkar Party 2023 and the New Year 2024 in Labuan Bajo.

Airlangga Hartarto also explained that the success of the G20 High Level Conference (Summit) in Indonesia is also not independent of the organization of the G20 Sherpa meeting.

“The success is not due to his Sherpas, the G-20 Sherpa is the office of the Minister, I say his office is not mine. Well that's a translation of each one. Then we are also in ASEAN,” he said.

Airlangga Hartarto explained that today the world is still beset by geopolitical uncertainty due to the war between Ukraine and Russia and the Hamas-Israel war that developed into Lebanon, after which the United States and Britain began attacks in the sea near Yemen related to disruptions to logistics.

Nevertheless, he continued, Indonesia is currently in a safe and peaceful situation, even Indonesia managed to host the G20 summit in a situation of uncertainty.

“Indonesia became a figurehead, Mr. President who went to Ukraine and to Moscow in one week's time and that opened negotiations between Ukrainia-Russia with the United Nations and Turkey that opened the grain could get out of Ukraine,” he said.

Therefore, he asked for the support of the cadre of the Golkar Party and the people of NTT Province to support the government program under the leadership of President Joko Widodo, especially the development in Labuan Bajo, which the government is so concerned about until the holding of the ASEAN Summit.

“With the ASEAN Summit, the entire government budget was thrown out so that Labuan Bajo can become an international summit venue on a par with Bali, on par with other cities in the world, world leaders came to Labuan Bajo, we now see the facilities and we feel it. Therefore, I ask all Labuan Bajo people, the people of NTT to continue to support Mr. Joko Widodo's program and the successor to Mr. Joko Widodo's program is our party, the Golkar Party,” he said.

According to Airlangga Hartarto, the Golkar Party is the leading party that consistently accompanies Joko Widodo in the first and second term presidential elections. “To this day, when we are clear where he is going, that's where the Golkar Party is,” he said.
