MOFA offers deepest condolences to families of Air Asia victims

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi offers her deepest condolences to all the families of the victims of ill-fated AirAsia QZ8501. The aircraft carrying 162 passengers crashed late last month in Karimata Strait.

"This year’s annual press statement is delivered in a time of grief, as we mourn the loss of Air Asia QZ 8501. Allow me to offer my deepest condolences to all the families of the victims," Minister Marsudi said during annual press statement on Thursday, January 8.

She stated that Indonesian Government had done and would continue to do everything in its power to deal with this tragedy.

Marsudi also thanked other countries that helped Indonesia search debris and victims of the aircraft flying from Surabaya to Singapore. "Allow me also to convey my gratitude and highest appreciation to all the governments of friendly countries for their support and assistance," she said.
